Our sets
What is included in an Elite Mahjong Co. set?
Every set is a complete American mahjong set: all tiles including jokers and blanks, dice, a bettor, and a case. The Signature Set has 166 tiles; the Modern Folk Set has 160 four-layer engraved tiles. Racks with pushers, a mat, a folding table and a bag set are available separately or as a complete game.
Are these sets for American mahjong?
Yes. Our sets are built for American (National Mah Jongg League style) play, with jokers, flowers and blanks included.
What are the tiles made of?
Our tiles are high-density acrylic with a smooth, weighted feel. The Modern Folk Set uses four-layer acrylic with the artwork engraved into the face rather than printed on top, so it will not wear off.
How much does a set cost?
The Signature Set is $349, the Modern Folk Set is $299, and a fully custom Design Your Own set is $399. Matching mats start at $79, racks with pushers are $80 for a set of four, a folding mahjong table is $199 and a three-piece bag set is $89. Standard shipping is free on everything.
Custom sets
Can I put my dog, my initials or my own photo on mahjong tiles?
Yes. Our Design Your Own studio lets you upload a photo of your pet, type your initials, name or club name, choose colors and patterns, and see a preview of your tiles before you order. Your design is printed on the back of every tile.
Can I get a mat, racks or a bag that match my custom tiles?
Yes. While you design your tiles you can add a matching mat, racks with pushers, folding table, bag set, coasters and a tile ornament, all printed with the exact same design.
What is the Personalized Design Service?
If you would rather describe your idea than build it yourself, our studio designs custom tile backs for you for $50. You receive proofs to choose from and nothing is printed until you approve one.
Can I order custom sets for my mahjong club or a group?
Yes. Many clubs order matching sets, caps and tumblers with their club name. Email hello@elitemahjongco.com with your group size and we will help you set it up.
Shipping and delivery
How long does it take to get my set?
Every set is made to order. Production takes about 5 to 12 business days, then free Standard Shipping takes about 10 to 15 business days. Most orders arrive in about 3 to 5 weeks. Express shipping is available at checkout.
Is shipping free?
Yes. Standard shipping is free on every order within the United States.
When do I need to order for Christmas?
Order by November 10 for delivery before Christmas with free Standard Shipping. After that, choose Express at checkout or send an Elite Mahjong Co. gift card, which arrives by email instantly.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Not yet. We currently ship within the United States only.
Returns and support
Can I return a custom set?
Because every set is made to order and most are personalized, we cannot accept returns for a change of mind. If your order arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, contact us within 14 days of delivery with photos and we will replace the affected tiles or item at no cost, or refund you if a replacement is not possible.
Can I cancel my order?
You can cancel within 24 hours of ordering, before production begins, for a full refund.
How do I pronounce mahjong?
Most American players say "mah-ZHONG" (the zh like the s in "measure"); "mah-JONG" is also common. The nickname "mahj" is pronounced "mahzh."
